With Benefits?

I walk along the line

That you cross every day

The buzz on your hip

The games you both play

You tell me it’s just a game

Pouring gas into the light

What I don’t know can’t hurt me

Out of mind out of sight

There she sits

In your pocket

Only thing stopping her

From touching you

Again

Is the paper thin fabric that holds your coins, your receipts, your secrets

With every ping

A jolt of energy

It’s time for another round

Of trivia

Of words with friends with…

Benefits?

No no it’s not like that

It’s just a game

You say

I’m not addicted

I just have to do her

I mean it!

every day

Light the gas lamp a little brighter

The games turn to silly banter
