Dearly beloved,

We are gathered here

To bear witness

To the end

Of our place

As number one

Is this couple’s life

To affirm their choice

To put each other first

In all things

Until death do them part

We vow to step aside

To demote ourselves

To respect and recognize

We will never again be

Their most beloved

For as long as we all shall live

And we promise to honor this

Because though it be an end for us

For them it is their beginning

The same start to a life

We once asked others to celebrate

We will be steadfast in our gratitude

For allowing these people we love

To love each other

They do not love us less

They love each other more

We are proud to be less important

Because we know that for them to thrive

This is exactly as it should be

We promise to remain

On the sidelines

Eternally supporting

Never controlling

Or breaking boundaries

Just cheering them on

Into their happily ever after
